About

Tomomi Ink has been around since February 2000, after I finally bit the bullet and went out on my own.  Despite the fluctuating market of the graphic world, and the business world, for that matter, I've never regretted working for myself since it's afforded me the flexibility to pick and choose my clients as well as price myself competitively.

I've never had any formal training in art, it's something that I picked up and learned along the way.  I started out in the days when Letraset transfer lettering ruled, and colour overlays were still done by hand using Amberlift and vellum sheets.  Yes, I know.  I'm a dinosaur.

And then desktop publishing was born and injected the graphic world with pure adrenalin.  If I ever had to go back to the 'old days' I just may sit down and weep.  Or retire.

In the two decades since I entered this world of scratching out colourful lines on paper and screen, I've been fortunate enough to be associated with some talented people who have helped me along the way: from learning calligraphy, cartoons/animation (through a stint in Jamaica via a UNICEF - Disney sponsored workshop), digital imagery and to the ins and out of the printing industry.  And most importantly, understanding my clients and their needs.  This is a brief thanks to those who have played a part in where I am today.

Here, I will showcase some samplings from my work as a Graphic Artist and Fine Artist.
